A Biking Haiku
(please read in monotone)
six A.M I wake
it’s thirty-two degrees out
i eat and we drive
borrow bike, speedy fast
borrow pants, padded butt please
water, hat, glove’, check
to lakeville high school
then to Jordan, ugh
the wind in my face
my toes going numb
please, not sixty miles more
i can’t feel my hand
twenty-three miles
finally done, time for lunch
orange, twix, trail mix, stuff
tail wind at back, yes
passing by horses, cows, farms
new prague, here i come
up and down hills great
i feel it’s getting very late
second rest-stop, lonsdale?
we eat more food, yum
twenty miles more, very sore
tomorrow, i’ll hurt
down a hill. stop. go.
lakeville high I love you so
never so happy
Thanks to the help of Morgan’s friend and his dad, Morgan was able to complete the Minnesota Ironman. She finished, give or take, in six and a half hours. Congratulations to all (crazy people).
